For those familiar with the products, the conclusion is easily reached.Just wondered why everyone was making such a big deal out of it and coming to the conclusion that it wasn't an Altec woofer.
The "big deal" is that it's an ad selling something where the photo directly contradicts the description.
For some folks this is also a factor. Although in the marketplace, i'd value a good working pair of E-140's considerably higher than any version 421. That is not to suggest that one woofer is better than the other, it's simply relative to their performance in a resale market.Because a JBL speaker in an ALTEC cabinet is sacriligious!!!!
There is also the remote possibility that those are indeed 421's, albeit with grossly incorrect parts used to re-cone them. I think it's unlikely, but to be fair i do recognize that remote possibility having seen some pretty odd cone kits slapped in Altec woofers in the past.
